Analog Jacket

Here is a jacket that I was able to be apart of the development process. I photographed an old Denim jacket and a leather jacket and combined it in to one jacket using Photoshop. The photos were then sublimated on to the jacket. It was a fun project to be apart of and it turned out great.

Yesterday was a 12 shoot day for Colorfast. Everyone was great to work with and the models were so good at what they do. Thanks to everyone who made the day such a success. I still can't believer we had 30 people in the studio yesterday. You guys rule!

Jason's Glass Tint

Last week I did a photo shoot for Jason's Glass tint. Jason and I have been friends for a long time so he asked me to help him shoot an ad for his glass tinting business. This is the shot we decided to run for the ad.

Space Man

Here is a photo I did for Analog a while back. This was such a fun shoot. The space suit was super expensive to rent because its the same suite they use for Hollywood films. We were so stoked when the suit showed up because it looked so good.

We did the photo shoot at a laundromat downtown Huntington Beach, CA. We scouted the location first and we decided it was perfect. The laundromat was still open to the public so people were there doing their laundry. We figured people would be curious or trip out because there is a space man in the laundromat.

When we walked in wearing a space suite, nobody even looked up or asked a question. It was like spacemen do laundry there all the time.

Nathan Fletcher Shoot

Here are some photos from my shoot with Nathan Fletcher. These shots are used in the Analog catalog and future ads. Nathan was great to work with. We shot this in the studio with one strobe bounced of a card as a fill light. My goal was to have no directional light.

The look we were going for was Nathan in a waiting room board in board shorts.

The last photo is Nathan surfing Pipe. After I saw this photo it reminded me of how good he really is. He broke his femur surfing Pipe last winter. He's on the mend.

I was just going through some old photos and stumbled on this shoot I did for Gless Ranch. If you like fruit, then this is the place to go. They grow the tastiest oranges ever. Here is a screen grab of their sight. I shot all the photos on film so it was a little less forgiving than digital. This shoot was done before digital cameras were readily available. I do miss shooting with film. Those were the good old days. Actually the good old days are now. I love digital too.

Tonight the Iverson family came up from San Clemente to do a photo shoot in my studio. They are such a nice family. It was very easy to work with. Jeep Photo Shoot for Surfline

I did a photo shoot for new Jeep Commander that was featured on Surfline. It was such a fun day working with Jeremy Sherwin, Travis Potter and Pascal Stansfield. They are such fun guys to be around and they rip at surfing.

We started down in San Diego at 6am and finished at about 8pm in Los Angeles near Malibu looking for waves. We scored the best waves in Huntington Beach in the afternoon. We lucked out there.

The Jeep Commander was pretty amazing car to drive, it had all the bells and whistles for the shoot. We definitly took advantage of having a brand new car to drive all over town.

All in all it was a successful shoot. I was on double duty doing photography and video. Not sure how I pulled that one off. Click on the link to below to go to the webpage.

Kelly McDonald New Born Baby

Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph Kelly and Patrick McDonald's new born baby boy. He is beautiful. I'm stoked they asked me to photograph him because they have three girls and on their last try they got their boy, so these photos are special.

The photo shoot was fun and went really well. Usually two week old babies sleep 24/7, but he was awake the whole time until the last 20 minutes of the shoot. I'm glad we were able to get photos of him awake, and asleep. That was nice.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Ben Roethlisberger held the football with both hands, occasionally spinning it in his lap as he sat and answered questions from reporters packed five deep in front of him in the postgame interview area of Raymond James Stadium.

"That's the ball I took a knee with and hung onto," the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback said. "I gave the last one to Jerome (Bettis). I'll hold onto this one."

The "last one" was from Super Bowl XL. Three years ago, Roethlisberger did the right thing in giving the ball to Bettis, who was retiring with a Super Bowl victory. That was one reason Big Ben was willing to part with the leather memento. Another was because he realized he hadn't done all that much to help the Steelers to their win over the Seattle Seahawks that night. In fact, he nearly cost Pittsburgh the game with two interceptions and the lowest passer rating for a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

Roethlisberger blamed his inability to overcome a severe case of the jitters on his mostly poor performance.

But things were far different in the Steelers' 27-23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, making Pittsburgh the only team to win six Super Bowls.

"Actually, I felt a lot better (this time)," said Roethlisberger, who joins the New England Patriots' Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks to win two Super Bowls by age 26. "I really didn't feel that nervous. It was a lot different than last time."

Roethlisberger not only had much better numbers, completing 21 of 30 passes for 256 yards (more than double the 123 he had in Super Bowl XL) and one touchdown while having a tipped pass intercepted, but he also came through with one of the greatest clutch performances in Super Bowl history.

With 2:37 left in the fourth quarter and the Steelers trailing 23-20, it was up to Roethlisberger and his offensive teammates to decide the outcome. Unlike so many previous games in which Pittsburgh's top-rated defense led the way, this one was on the offense's collective shoulder pads. And no one felt the pressure more than Roethlisberger.

Before the Steelers took the field from their own 22-yard line, he said the following to his offensive teammates: "It's now or never, guys. You'll be remembered forever if you do this. All the film study, all the hard work, all the (negative) stuff people (said) about us … it will be for nothing. We have to go out and do this."

On the first play, guard Chris Kemoeatu was called for holding. On the second, Roethlisberger hit Santonio Holmes for a 14-yard gain. After an incompletion, Roethlisberger faced a third-and-6 from the Steelers' 26 with 1:56 remaining. Showing the cool that was absolutely necessary for the circumstances, Roethlisberger connected with Holmes for 13 yards and followed that with an 11-yard hookup with Nate Washington, putting the ball at midfield.

After a 4-yard Roethlisberger scramble, the Steelers called their second timeout with 1:02 remaining. Roethlisberger was clearly operating in a zone, and he proceeded to hit Holmes on a short pass that the wide receiver turned into a 40-yard gain to the Arizona 6. Pittsburgh then called its final timeout.

Two plays later, Roethlisberger threw to the back corner of the end zone. With three defenders trailing him, Holmes caught the ball, kept his toes inbounds and fell out of the end zone for what a booth review verified as the decisive touchdown.

"Well, we called it, 'Scramble right, scramble left, find someone open,' and 'Ton got open," Roethlisberger said, jokingly. "It was one of those ones where the first read (running back Mewelde Moore in the flat) wasn't open, the second read (Hines Ward) wasn't open. I kind of saw 'Ton at the last minute. When I let go of it, I thought the corner dropped off and was going to pick it, but 'Ton went up and made one heck of a play and got both feet down."

The play sealed Holmes' selection as the game's Most Valuable Player. But it also put the finishing touches on a performance that will go a long way toward redefining Roethlisberger's reputation as a good quarterback who has mostly succeeded with a great defense.

"He's not the same guy he was in the last (Super Bowl)," Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. "He was a young guy in the last one. He's a franchise quarterback that we have a long-term commitment to. He's our guy, and he showed why (tonight)."

Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians could tell in practice the past two weeks that Roethlisberger was determined to have a better Super Bowl than he did three years ago in Detroit.

"He prepared himself to play a great game," Arians said. "He's really light years from where he was then."

Roethlisberger recognized the importance of what he and the rest of Pittsburgh's offense had accomplished on the final drive, which he called "probably a drive that will be remembered for a long time, at least in Steelers history. It feels really good, really special."

What made it even more special was the fact that Roethlisberger and his teammates, after once appearing to be in control of the game with a 20-7 lead in the fourth quarter, had to overcome adversity.

Midway through the fourth, Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald caught a touchdown pass to whittle the margin to 20-14. Then, with 2:58 on the clock, Steelers center Justin Hartwig was called for a holding penalty in the end zone, resulting in a safety to cut it to 20-16. Even worse was that it wiped out another spectacular catch by Holmes for 19 yards, which would have pulled Pittsburgh out of a deep hole and put the team in position to kill the remaining time on the clock.

"Any time you make a big play and it's called back, it's a little demoralizing," Roethlisberger said. "But you can't afford to (let it get to you) because you've got to be able to count on each other. We knew our defense was going to be able to step up, and if we had to come back out, we were going to do it."

After Fitzgerald caught his second touchdown pass to put the Cardinals in front 23-20, the stage was set for the heroics of Roethlisberger and Holmes.

"When it was down at the end, (overcoming) three points I thought was a given," Arians said. "We've been in this situation six times this year, I think, and (Roethlisberger) has done it every time."

For many years, this one will stand as the biggest of them all.
